Brief 简介:

Using seeds as the symbol for hope and growth, I created an abstract sculpture that imitates the fractal form many plants possess and that holds individual seed bags high in the air. The project promotes kind acts by facilitating the excitement of lucky-draw, prompting participants to take care of the seeds they draw, and asking them to maintain or pass on the kind acts -- kindness grows as people watch their seeds grow.

With clear plastic rolls as the main medium, the sculpture can stand on itself, and make home everywhere -- its transparency blends in with all background colors. The participant take a "lucky draw" first; the seed bags he selects contains seeds and a message (a task such as "Make breakfast for you mom during this weekend"). He will then go home, plant the seeds, perform the task, and hopefully maintain the task as his seeds grow.

The human spirit is not complicated. We want to connect with others, we want to feel appreciated and we seek the motivation to make others feel good about themselves. "Grow with Me" project simply aims to connect all these aspects and provide ground and reasons for kind acts. The tasks don't ask a lot from us so they should be easy to carry on; however, we often neglect them just like how we neglect what or who is closest to us. My intention is then to draw attention to the simple yet heartwarming acts (further introduced later) that will make the people we love the most feel loved.

这是一个装满神秘种子的互动型雕塑，每一根管子里都装着一种不同的植物种子，这些种子又被装在棱形半透明的种子包中(除了美观外，材料也是可降解的)。每个参与者随机抽出一个种子包，就可以看到它附带的信息，都是鼓励人们做善事的，比如给家人烧一顿早饭，给朋友一个拥抱，等等。信息写在不可降解的塑料条上，这样人们种种子时可以把这条信息插在土里，随时提醒他们，在种子成长过程中，别忘了将友善行为继续下去，并也传播给别人。逐渐地，大家会轮流地将空的管子填上新的种子包，以此将正能量传递下去。
