"Live a Cupfortable lifestyle.
A company that I co-founded through Junior Achievement BC, Mr. Sleeves, makes handmade, one-of-a-kind, fashionable, eco-friendly, reusable cup sleeves. With fashion-forward and hip and trendy people in mind, the inspiration for our concept was to add a little more character to one's morning commute, office desk, or study space. Now, one can make a statement with her grande non-fat half-caf extra dry cappuccino macchiato!
Through this project, I have gotten to blend both art and entrepreneurial thinking, appreciating that starting a business is as much a creative process as is the artistic design of our product. I always recognize that the way we introduce our ideas to potential clients is as important as perfecting the product itself. With our commitment to environmental sustainability in mind, I designed a logo with the outline of a coffee cup consisted of the letters "M" and "S" in green and brown.
For packaging, each fabric sleeve is wrapped around a piece of cardboard cut out in the shape of a real-sized coffee cup and containing inspirational quotes. In addition to creating our website, I developed our social media marketing campaign, which included a "green" photography series with mini flowerpots each wrapped in a fabric sleeve, as well as a "fashion release" with various models holding coffee cups with their own individualized sleeves.
Being involved in so many aspects of our operations, I have witnessed a business come alive and realize that creativity is not limited to art, music, or dance, but can be found in entrepreneurial ventures or ideas. Founding a business requires first identifying a need in the marketplace, solving a problem, or providing an innovative product. In other words, it is coming up with creative solutions. My hope is that as more people seek out their own unique "cupfortable" lifestyles, they will find inspiration in Mr. Sleeves and will pass on this creativity to others.
从零开始,我们在4个月内,从品牌定义,到用户体验设计,到包装和零售,到商业运作,我们一群高中生将整个公司包装了出来。
